Program Description
The program will prepare students for technician jobs that work with electrical systems, electronics,
instrumentation, and automated controls technology. Students will learn to apply basic
engineering principles and technical skills to develop, install, calibrate, modify, program, and
maintain automated systems used in the energy, power, processing, manufacturing,
agriculture, and other industries. The program curriculum includes electric circuitry and power
systems, electronics and instrumentation, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), electric,
hydraulic, and pneumatic control systems, actuator and sensor systems, field device networks,
process control and mechatronics.

Program Outcomes
The student will be able to:
  1. Demonstrate effective oral and written communication.
  2. Demonstrate knowledge of concepts, terminology, and skills pertaining to electronics, instrumentation, and industrial control systems.
  3. Develop skill sets essential to electrician, I&E technician, and automation technician/programmer roles in the industry.
